Corporation Secretary/Legal Affairs Division

The Division provides technical and strategic direction in the development and enforcement of the legal and regulatory framework with the aim of ensuring security of insurance funds as well as protecting the rights of policy holders and their beneficiaries. Other functions of the Division include:

Provision of legal and policy advice on the Insurance Act, applicable laws, rules, regulations

  • Facilitating resolution of legal issues
  • Ensure speedy resolution of complaints.
  • Investigating and enforcing cases of violations against statutory requirements
  • Recommending disciplinary sanctions in line with the Insurance Act.
  • Provision of company secretarial services,
  • Advising the Board on legal matters
  • Implementing good corporate governance practices to enhance organisational credibility.
